s7 - [fragment] Onys & Quinys
Quinys jumped up from her seat and scurried up the steps, looking for Onys. This would be fun, she really liked Onys and Erys and wanted to know more about Rowen. This would be fun, and she needed fun, and they could all be friends and things would be awesome. She knocked quickly on the door she believed to belong to Onys and bounced in place.
It is, in fact, Onys's door. Which would be good, because otherwise, who knows what kind of horror might have stumbled out of the portal into the hall. After a moment, it unlatches and opens partway, revealing a not-entirely-put-together Onys. She's dressed, to be sure, but she's a bit disheveled, one might say. Hair loose, in need of a fresh rebraid and probably a bit of a brushing, the elf standing barefoot on the parquet floor. She brightens a tiny bit as she recognizes Quinys outside her door. "Oh, hello, Quinys. How do you fare?"
"Well, and you?" Quin smiled widely and ignored the uncharacteristic dishevelment of Onys. She looked around a bit and toyed with her hands for a moment be fore clearing her throat. She should have brought cake, she'd remember that for next time. "Well, apparently Rowan had mentioned shopping, and I have a few things to do in the merchant district, and Erys got kinda excited, and do you want to come shopping? I promise it will be fun, and we could get cake. And furthermore would you like to have regular tea times with Erys and me and maybe Rowan, I promise it will be fun." Wow that sugar hit her hard, she didn't realize how much she had eaten until the realized she was rambling.
Onys replies, "Well enough for the day," before listening in mild amazement as the words suddenly begin spilling from the woman she generally thought of as being somewhat more taciturn than this. "I…well. Yes to the first motion, I certainly could use some supplies before we are on the road again, and…yes to the second, as well. I don't know how civilized high tea might be in the middle of some forest half-covered in frost and snow, but it would be nice to try." Onys thought for a moment and suspected the hand of her sister in this, but paid it no mind for the moment. "Are we planning to depart momentarily? I would need just a moment to make myself presentable. Feel free to come and sit for a time, if that is the case."
"Before long, your sister went to find Rowen." Quin slipped in and looked around the room, eyes imedeatly drawn to exits, then expensive things, and then to interesting things. She would never take anything of Onys', but she couldn't help but wonder what all the elf had. She was nobility, she had to have cool things.
Onys holds the door open wide enough for Quinys to slip past her, then closes it.
EXITS: the door (shut), the window (shut).
EXPENSIVE THINGS: Onys's Plate Armor (in a large, neat pile at the foot of the bed), Onys's Backpack (next to the armor), Onys's Greatsword and Longbow (lying across the bed), Onys's Purse of Coin (on the desk below the window), Onys's Holy Symbol (the golden heart pendant around her neck).
INTERESTING THINGS: Onys? Anything else that might be interesting is probably still packed away.
"Very well, then, I shan't be long, myself." She takes up a hairbrush from her desk and sits in the wooden chair before it, crossing her legs, starting work on the indigo locks. She glances for a moment at Quinys as she works. "Is everything alright, Quinys? You seem…agitated."
"No, no, I'm just…excited. My childhood was abnormal, and this is something the normal children would do. Also, I feel like we should all be spending more time together, instead of just going off on our own or with just one other person. We're more than just a group of people traveling together now." Quin shrugged and watched Onys, sitting on the floor and leaning against a closeish wall. The way Onys moved was so different from Erys, but eerily similar as well.
She works methodically through her hair, head tilted to the side, pulling the brush through the same sheaf of blue multiple times, each time closer to the root than before. She frowns slightly, not entirely accustomed to thinking of herself as a child at this age, but nods in agreement. "We have certainly shared some difficulties, yes, it would be pleasant to share some more peaceful moments as well."
"Peace is a luxury we aren't given much, but I think this will be for the best." Quin gave a large smile sitting at Onys's desk and watching her brush her hair. Something about the blue was calming to Quin and made her happy, as she remembered the one time she had dyed her hair green and Adonis became angry with her.
