Erys Moongem

Erys stood in the clothes she'd been wearing all day just outside Dagger's door, staring. She wanted to formulate a plan of attack, and it was important to start developing a better feel for these two. There was something there. Something that only she could help coax out of them. And it was going to help her realize how shortly becoming a formal paladin while holding Sune as her truelove… this was what she did. She fostered love. She honored beauty. Dagger had been the first of their number to earn a nickname from Erys, so surely it made sense that she would be the first to acceede to her charms. Want welld up from a place deep within her. Clearly, it was the right thing to do. The signs were all there. "The Goddess gets what the Goddess desires for me. Truelove," she prays, all-but silently, "as ever, I am but your vessel." Three quick taps on Dagger's door.

Quinys Forgedawn

Quin looks up from her book and yawns, stretching and grabbing a dagger before putting a hand on the crowbar and clearing her throat. "Who is it?" She pressed an ear to the door and tried to pick up clues as to who was there before receiving her answer.

Erys Moongem In a hushed tone of Common, hoping to avoid detection even by Edric, but loud enough to bridge the distance, she offers up the simplest explanation. "It's me, Erys."

Quinys Forgedawn

Erys? What in all of the worlds…? "Give me a moment." Quin slid the crowbar out and quietly opened the door, sure Edric was trying to seep by now, the silly human. She opened the door and stood to the side to allow Erys to pass. Her room was unpacked in just the slightest of ways, her clothes neatly folded on top of her pack, her weapons set out meticulously on the nightstand with a wet stone next to them, one spot blank from the dagger in her hand. "Is something wrong?"

Erys Moongem

Erys smiles at the sight of Dagger, obviously over prepared. Ready for an attack from all angles. Small, but quick, fast, briliant in an instant. There was a time when Erys was like this, before the process of maturation slowed her down from her ancient childhood. "I'd just like to speak with you, if I'm not interrupting anything. In private. About us. Can I come in? Could we have some… privacy?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"Yes, of course, come in." Quin placed the dagger back in its spot, adjusting it ever so slightly until it was just right. Once it was perfect and Erys had fully entered, she shut the door and locked it again, then pulled her hair back and tied it up. "Is something wrong? It's pretty late, and I'm not used to visitors. I mean, Adonis used to have people in and out all the time, but I was usually quietly spying in the dark."

Erys Moongem

"Nothing is wrong, nothing at all. Everything's great, actually." Erys leapt at the chance to learn more about the mysterious rogue. "Adonis? Is that a…. former lover? Employer?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"Oh, my uh…step-dad? Teacher? Both type thing. It's complicated." Quin shook her head and sighed, her past was less than solid and Adonis wasn't really a bad guy…her memories just made him seem that way.

Erys Moongem

Erys watches with interest that quickly turns to concern. Her eyes narrow. It'd be a brick wall to both of her goals to get trapped in an argument over whether that relationship had been a good one, and goodness knew that even if it were the case, Dagger might just not… know. "Is he the one who taught you to move the way you moved at the cavemouth, the other day? The one who taught you such meticulous care for your gear? …To lock your door at night with a crowbar?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"More or less, he gave me the basics and I became what I am when he was taken." Quin rubbed her head and sat on the edge of her bed, looking her things over and thinking about each one. "He showed me to care for my things because they might not exist if I don't, to be silent but always ready, and to keep myself protected even when I think I'm safe."

Erys Moongem

Erys moved to sit on the floor in front of where Dagger had chosen to sit, smoothing out the fabric of her dress. After a day of wear, goodness her hair too, these weren't exactly ideal conditions to flirt. "Traveling companions too, judging from your remarks last night at camp."

Quinys Forgedawn

"The people you travel with are an extension of yourself. You move as one, decide things as a unit, you split all the things you find. You're a family that's closer than family, because you're a singular unit." Quin smiled a bit and scooched over a bit and nodded at the foot of her bed. "The floor's not comfortable here, trust me."

Erys Moongem

A little flash of red spread over her cheeks, and Erys couldn't help but question herself. Seriously? Seriously. Well, an invitation is an invitation and it would simply be rude not to accept. She smiled appreciatively, nodding, and moved from the floor to the foot of the bed, keeping their bodies as close together as she could figure a way to justify. "That's a very interesting viewpoint, Dagger. I don't know if I agree, entirely… but my situation with my family has always been a little strange. They asked me to leave our homeland because I, um, maybe, y'know, slept with the wrong person. People. It made things difficult for House Kiirnodel. Even though it was the right thing to do."

Quinys Forgedawn

"People don't have enough respect for family. You can't reject them, or cast them out, because one day they'll actually be gone and you can't get them back." Quin patted Erys's hand and looked sad for a moment, people didn't understand what it was like to lose your whole family in a single intense, otherwise they wouldn't be so quick to reject them. "Who cares who you bed, for good or bad reasons, as long as both people are happy about it then it's no one else's business. And it's a child's job to be difficult for their house."

Erys Moongem

The nightmare that had haunted her all her life flashes before her eyes for just a split instant: 'We regret to inform you of the deaths of Ladies Aegan, Vestera, and Onys Kiirnodel…' and the sadness overwhelms her for a moment, but she turns her head to make eye contact with Dagger. As long as both people are happy about it. A child's job to be difficult for their house. "You're a good person, Dagger. I really like you."

Quinys Forgedawn

"Thank you, I like you too. We have a good group and should be happy about it." Quin smiled widely and held her hands out for Erys's as she realized that this was truly a new chance at a family.

Erys Moongem

Erys looks at the gesture plaintively, and at Dagger's face, with a bit of a look of shock on her own. The way she reacted just shaking Edric's hand… and the pressure in the air already… it was now or never. She took one of the hands and wrapped both of hers around it, moving closer as she did so, holding eye contact. "Dagger, I….You…" The touch made images fly through her mind of a thousand lovers, a thousand encounters gone wonderfully, a thousand moments where Sune had seen fit to let Erys help someone find that inner satisfaction that only a Sunite lover could. "You didn't understand that I was trying to hit on you earlier today, did you?"

Quinys Forgedawn

Quinys looked at her with a tilted head, not pulling her hand away and remains relatively still, before bursting out laughing. "Did Edric put you up to this? That man just can't handle being wrong. He's such a baby sometimes."

Erys Moongem

A smile stretched across her face. Positive reaction. Not outright negative, not outright rejection. And no comment as to whether she had a chance or not. After so long, Erys realized that this just might have been what Sune had been making her wait for. All the signs were here. Dagger needed her. "I've… found that all men can be quite childish, but no. In fact, had I given him the chance, I believe he might have asked me not to risk making things awkward between us and to ignore… what I think is happening here. I'm sorry if it seems ridiculous to you, Dagger, and I don't mean to imply that I'm after a long-term relationship or anything like that. My heart belongs to Lady Firehair, and it always will. But…"

Quinys Forgedawn

"You were honestly showing interest in me? In a, ahem, sexual way?" Quin scrunched her face up a bit and rethought everything that had happened before. There had been no crude comments, grabbing, nothing uncomfortable, Erys was either messing with her or had a different way of showing physical desire than Quin had ever experienced. "That's…unexpected."

Erys Moongem

Erys nodded firmly twice, slowly, making the point that while the answer was yes, it was meant to be respectful. "As a Sunite, I do have a slightly different perspective on these things than the… men who've likely tried to bed you before. You've undoubtedly encountered rude, callous, miserable bastards who've recognized how beautiful you are, or saw some part of the whole of what I see in you and were so stunned that their tiny little minds just had to try to grab some of it for themselves. If I took you to bed, Dagger, it wouldn't be to use you for a night's sexual satisfaction, though… no one would ever have to know unless you wanted them to. It wouldn't be about…. conquering you or…." Sometimes it was clearly difficult for her to even remember the way these tavern-crawlers thought. "Making you into some kind of trophy piece for me to share stories about with my friends. It'd be a legitimate connection between us," she said, moving just a little closer, "which can't be forced. Even when it's casual, even when two or," she giggled a little to herself "more people come together just once between them, and then it's over. Lady Firehair is there. Breathing into that moment. Uniting body and soul in a way unlike anything else mortals can experience. It's best with a true love, of course, but you have to know what you're doing." She pulled back just a little. "With respect, and feel free to turn me down or not answer, but… what have your past lovers been like?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"Absent, I guess? I wasn't going to bring anyone home while living with Adonis, and since then I've found myself mostly in bars or working. I mean, it's not like I don't understand my sexuality, or don't know how to use it to bend people to my will, it's just the thought of letting those people actually touch me." Quin shuddered a bit, thinking of the types she had interacted with before. Fat, unwashed, disgusting beings that were so unappealing that she used to laugh to prevent wanting to vomit over when looked at her.

Erys Moongem

It was right there on her face. Disgust…. shame…. fear. Unacceptable in the extreme. Erys' resolve only intensified, gripping Dagger's hand more tightly, in a gesture that was intended to be every bit as comforting as it was reasserting her own presence, here, before Dagger, in the present. "And me? Here, now, with you? None but the Gods as our witnesses. Do I make you feel the same way?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"Of course not!" Quin looked almost horrified, is that what Erys thought? That Quin hated her? Felt disgusted by her? This will never do! "Erys you are my friend, and I respect you deeply. Even if I don't understand some of your…impulses. I don't need to understand everything about you to appreciate you as a person."

Erys Moongem

Erys takes a slow inhale and a slower exhale. "You're turning me down. That is, of course, absolutely your right, and I'll respect that. But for what it's worth…" She felt herself doubting herself again. Again? Again? "Again, Lady Kiirnodel?" Her brow furrowed, her thought clearly interrupted as she spends a beat in deep thought, before shifting to a soft, comforting glance. "The offer's on the table, Dagger. Conversation, physical comfort, if you need a secret kept, protection in battle, obviously….even sex…" Her eyes involuntarily sank as a flush of blush painted her cheeks. Onys had already given her the disapproving glare when she stated her intentions, and after tonight, would surely believe she'd successfully bedded the entire group. Save the tiefling, obviously. What in the Hells was going on with her this last week? "…I should probably spend some time meditating before we get going in the morning."

Quinys Forgedawn

"I'm sorry for misunderstanding before, I just think I need some time to think about what we talked about. I'd like to talk to you more about this, and other things…you're my closest friend outside of Edric, and maybe the only female friend I've had." Quin moved to give Erys a momentary hug, making two in one night, an all time high for her. "Please don't be cross with me, I enjoy this."

Erys Moongem

Erys pushed the hug a level of intensity further, just one, from momentary to very real, just to make her point. The touch alone made her senses go into overdrive, so much that she shook just a little in Dagger's arms. But when they separated, she found the strength of will to smile. She silently prayed, gazing one last time into Dagger's eyes. 'My Lady, my Truelove… if you want me to bear this burden, I'll bear it.' "Never suffer anyone who would be cross with you over a denial as kind as that. It's nice to know I've earned your trust and friendship, at least. We'll talk more tomorrow. Goodnight, Dagger."
