S3E1-QuinysErysEdric

Quinys Forgedawn

Quinys, hair freshly brushed and braided and with just a dagger on her hip heads across the hall toward Erdic's room. She knocks on the door once, twice, then over and over saying "Edric" in increasingly loud intervals. "Edric! Drinks! Alcohol Edric! Open your door and come drinking with meeeeeeeee! Yannok has ale, elven ale. I know you like elven things!"

Erys Moongem

Erys looks at herself in her vanity once again. There's a certain confidence that the chain mail gives her, a certain… power, grace, capability… but going without and choosing instead of wear a more casual outfit is always a delight when staying in a town. The green dress hangs loosely on her shoulders, exposing plenty of skin, though her braid does fall over one shoulder to block just a bit of that. An empire waist means the dress achieves the simple goal of being tight up top but flowy down below – ideal, as far as Erys is considered. With how well the conversation with Valorn went, Erys begrudgingly accepts the stark truth that the dwarf simply won't be joining her tonight. Tonight. But there are plenty of fish in the - the knocking on Edric's door can easily be heard, and Erys leaps with joy at the mention of alcohol in Dagger's clear voice. "Drinks?" She says, opening the door to her own room. "Would it be alright if I joined you, Dagger?"

Edric Crestrun

Hearing one commotion at his door, Edric was almost tempted to ignore it, as he poured over his spellbook and the scrolls which he had pried from the robe. His attention had been on the pile of parchment, books, inks and naturally, his own spellbook as he went through the painstaking process of turning these scrolls into something he could use himself. Still, a drink sounded nice. As he heard the commotion turn into two voices now outside his door, his concentration was thoroughly destroyed. He swept the robe from a rack near the door, and cloaked himself in it as he headed to open the door to the two women outside it. "Yeah, you know what, sure. Drinks sound good."

Quinys Forgedawn

"Okay, cool, but where's Catbird?" Quinys looked over Edric's shoulder with a smile and then turned to Erys. "Yeah, come join us. I like to drink with who I fight with." She, for once, seemed almost like the fairly young elf she was. Her manner had shifted from its usual business like to a far move bubbly youth at the mere concept of a night off with friends. "Let's goooooo already."

Erys Moongem

Erys squeals with delight, grabbing her own dagger and strapping it around her waist in two fluid gestures, delighted at the chance to spend time with the two of them and get to know them better. She exits her room quickly and moves towards Dagger, waiting for Edric to hurry his ass up. "I've been looking forward to getting some time together. Today's turning out great." She beams.

Edric Crestrun

"Catbird's out on the town. He's out of my range right now, but I guarantee he'll be shacked up with a couple of lady cats by the end of the night." Stepping out of his room, his new robe fluttered as he shut the door and stepped out into the hallway, having left his staff behind. He smelled like ozone and lavender, and as always, seemed impeccably groomed and clean. "I ain't one to turn down complementary booze, if it's to celebrate, all the better."

Quinys Forgedawn

"No matter what it's nice to be getting drunk where you sleep, easier to stumble your way to bed." Quinys looks at the robe with a scrunched-up face, because that thing was ugly, but then decided that he had his reasons and they were none of her business, beside who was she to comment on his wardrobe? No one, right? Right. "So, everyone doing okay after that fight? Feeling up to a pint or five?"

Erys Moongem

Erys explodes into laughter, loud, raucous, like a dwarf, but with her usual voice. "Lady protect, Lady save me, Lady love me despite loving how fucking ridiculous… hahahahahaha…. what the fuck human?" It was turning out to be a VERY good day. Looking like that Edric would be zero competition and Erys could finally see if Dagger might be interested. A sideways glance towards her as if they shared in a secret conspiracy against the lad, and she starts moving downstairs towards the little table Yannok had set up for them. "It's been DAYS, Dagger. Days. I am so feeling up to a pint or twelve."

Edric Crestrun

Edric just grinned. Only he knew the secrets of this robe, and now that he knew them, he wasn't going to let looking silly keep him from keeping it on his person at all times. Much like always, it would seem to them like he was in on a joke only he was aware of. "I could use a couple drinks, but I can't get too wasted tonight. I've got some studyin' to do." He glanced to Quinys with a smile, as he headed towards the stairs to the first floor. "I mean I just stood around most of the time in the basement, you all did the hard work."

Quinys Forgedawn

"Neeeerd." Quinys teased and began cleaning her nails with a dagger as they walked down the steps and toward a table. "Someone remind me I need arrows in the morning." She has found a new enthrallment with fighting. Nothing like when she pulled off a job, but it was a fun distraction from the economy dying down. She returned Erys' look with a quiet snicker and headed to the table to get three beers for her and her friends.

Erys Moongem

Erys finally sat down, putting Quinys between herself and Edric, leaning onto the table itself and sighing. "This is going to be nice." She motions to the elf next to her, still so enamored with the way she's appeared to spark up over the last few minutes. For now, though, the plan of attack is calm, cool, let the girl get some drinks in her and have a good time. There'd be time for talking.

Edric Crestrun

As they pour their drinks, three strong ales, Edric took a long draught of the brown beer, showing his lack of etiquette as he wiped his mouth with his arm. He smiled at the two of them genuinely, having fun in an actual normal way for once and not in the 'watching greasy zombies fall all over themselves and also a bear' way. "Y'know, you two are alright. Never thought I'd say that about a couple of elves, but you two have really been a couple of great companions for this strange ass journey."

Quinys Forgedawn

Quinys took a long drink and slumped a bit in her seat, happy for a moment. Good people, good drink, finally time to relax. "So, who wants to talk about what? I mean, I could come up with topics all day but I don't want to dominate the conversation. Ask Edric, I can sometimes."

Erys Moongem

Erys throws back the pint, returns the mug to the wood below, and finally exhales loudly. "Fuck, that's good." Erys runs her fingers through her hair as a post-drink habit and moves to face the other two, leaning over so as to not totally exclude Edric. "Where are you from, Dagger? Like I told you last night, most of the elves I've known are fucking pricks. You're amazing, if a little quiet sometimes. Tell me about you, i-if you don't mind, of course."

Edric Crestrun

Even with her token attempt to include him, Edric understood what was going on, and while some part of him felt a small twinge of jealousy he didn't immediately understand, he kept to his drink, as he flavored up his own ale to taste more like a big mug of butterscotch beer. He was bored, but he didn't have much else to do but stay and enjoy their company until he needed to get back to his studies.

Quinys Forgedawn

"Oh, um, not much to tell. I grew up in Neverwinter, lived with my step-dad. Got into fights, learned how to lie, normal stuff. Ended up drinking with Gundren one night, met Edric, and now I'm here. What about you?" She took another long drink, feeling the warmth of the beer pooling into her stomach and sighing. "What's it like to have a sister?"

Erys Moongem

Erys closes her eyes and shakes her head. Of course, Dagger wasn't like those other fuckers – she wasn't locked away in some commune kissing leaves and reading books. "My sister, oh my word. I love Ona to death, don't get me wrong, and she's… she's beautiful, right? She's so noble, and she wants to do so much good in the world, and I really… I really honestly wish I respected that more. I just don't believe – between us – that she has what it takes to really make a true difference. Not yet, anyway. We'll be taking our oaths as paladins soon, it's a big deal. She um…." Erys considers. "She doesn't care for sleeping in the room next to mine, since so often I'm entertaining and… things can get a little loud." Erys leans in just a smidge closer, nearly undetectable, but definitely adding a certain air to this last remark.

Edric Crestrun

Edric certainly noticed, and he was feeling just a touch more flustered. "If I recall, Erys, I'll be sharing a wall with you tonight. Are ya gonna be entertainin' all night, or is there a chance the human might get to sleep?" He knew already he'd be up late the longer he stayed here, and the way she was talking to Quinys, he felt more and more obliged to spend more time here. Getting up to pour them all another round, he felt…protective of Quinys? Was that right? She was her own woman, she could make her own choices, and judging from how she handled that caper back in Neverwinter, was fully aware of her own sexuality. He knew all this, and yet he suddenly felt a bit…competitive.

Quinys Forgedawn

"Are you asking me to be your wingman? Because I'm a great wingman." Quinys finished her beer and took another, tipping it a bit to Edric. "Ever the gentleman." She took a sip before setting it down and clearing her throat. "I knew this one guy who had a spell for silence, maybe that kind of thing would help you out tonight. You'd get to study and sleep in relative peace."

Erys Moongem

Erys holds the beat for a half-second before letting her smile expand, then recede. "Not exactly, but hey, that might be fun too." At the mention of the silence spell, Erys laughed. "Oh my goodness, I wish my poor sister had a spell like that, sometimes the poor dear is so aggravated at me in the morning. Dagger, are you speaking from experience? Is that… how you handle the problem of a noisy room in an inn? That's actually how I met Roxie, being too loud with a— Ahhh maybe Dagger didn't realize ladies were on the table. "Cleric? Paladin? Fellow follower of Sune, of course, with tits the size of my shield." She's obviously told this story a time or two before, and Edric alone has seen the gesture Erys makes to indicate the woman in question was well-endowed.

Edric Crestrun

"I think I've heard this one before." As he sat down with the three newly poured drinks, Edric quickly did some prestidigitation on the three of them, each now tasting like an effervescent lambic that you would more likely find in a fine establishment far from this small mining town. "And no, I don't know any silence spells. Yet. Might have to look into that if we're gonna be travelling together for the forseeable future, and it's lookin' more and more like that every day it seems." Unlike the others, Edric's thoughts existed partially in the future, always picking up small glimpses of signs, omens, and visions that might point him towards the right solutions. It was distracting, to say the least, but he tried to use it for good. All his portents lately told him that he should get used to this group of adventurers, or he'd regret it.

Quinys Forgedawn

"Oh, no, he and I worked together to, ah, liberate some items from a false owner." Quinys shrugged and wondered for a moment what Onys would think of her previous job. She once took everything from a man who had unfortunately beaten her in a game of poker…his fault for trying to take her home when he was that drunk. "But sounds like a party all the same."

Erys Moongem

Erys nods appreciatively at the mention of Onys and throws back her second pint, exhaling with relief and nearly undetectable disappointment after the mug's back down. "Well, Goddess love me, I think that's gonna be it for me." She gives a sort of pained smile to Dagger, just… trying not to make it too obvious, and glances back at Edric while standing. "Offer's still on the table, Edric. No strings, no pressure. You know where I sleep."

Edric Crestrun

As Erys took her leave, Edric looked to Quinys with a grin, feeling a strange sense of relief at the wood elf's response. As he drank his lambic'd up ale, he shifted a little closer, trying to do this without causing any undue hurt feelings as he whispered, "So, uh…I'm gonna guess you didn't realize she was tryin' to get in your pants, or you did and tried to let her off as easy as ya could by feignin' a lack of understanding." Turning to watch Erys head upstairs, he wondered if it had ever been so hard for her to find a playmate, especially amongst those she traveled with.

Quinys Forgedawn

"What? No. What?" Quinys gave Edric a look as she sipped, then drank deeply of this delicious fruity thing he had made for them. She waved her hand and shook her head, clearing her throat. "I know when someone's trying to do that, and it's usually way more uncomfortable. And they usually look a little more in this area." She moved her hand around her chest and took another drink.

Edric Crestrun

"Yeah, she's good, like, probably better at a seduction than anyone else I've met. Even tried it on me, that night at camp, although I declined. You…really didn't know, huh?" He couldn't tell if he found that kinda cute or just painfully naive, but as he glanced towards the stairs and the chair where the now absent Erys had sat, he felt kind of bad.

Quinys Forgedawn

"You're delusional… did she really hit on you?" Quinys thought of Erys, unsure what to do with this new information. "Why did you decline? She's pretty." She took another drink, looking at Edric from the corner of her eye to gauge his reaction. "Because it's uncomfortable in the woods? Or because we were all around?"

Edric Crestrun

As he prepared to answer her question, he thought better of talking about it in the common area. "I'll tell you later. For now, let's just get tipsy and enjoy the free drinks, yeah?"
