Edric Crestburn

With the spoils of the cave having been collected and identified, Edric sat at the campfire, the flames dancing at his gestures he sloshed around a healing potion in his hand, looking for impurities. He had expended quite a bit of juice back there, and he hadn't even summoned Catbird back yet. To be fair, Catbird deserved the break in the Astral Plane. As he saw Quinys, he gestured her over.

Quinys Forgedawn

Quinys sat cross legged on a rock as her watch shift ended, rubbing her head and letting her hair down. "Did I miss anything fun?"

Edric Crestburn

He shook his head. "Nah, just figured out what these things are. Should come in handy if we get hit like we did in the cave again. You feelin' okay?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"Tired, but not in the worst of ways." She shrugged and pulled out a ration, rinsing off her dagger and starting to cut it up. "What about you and CatBird, you guys doing okay?"

Edric Crestburn

"Besides that arrow I caught, I'm right as rain. Fuckin' goblin nailed me though." He rubbed at where his wound had been, still a little woozy from the blood loss. "Catbird's just takin' a well-deserved break. He don't mind dying, but sometimes he needs some 'me' time." The fire stopped swirling, as he redirected his magic to heat and kick up the flavor of her ration. He glanced across the camp to the man they had saved. "I feel a little off 'bout that guy. How come Gundren never introduced us?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"Maybe he doesn't drink." Quinys took a bite of her food and started looking through Edric's stuff. "Where is your flask, I need booze if I'm going to continuing functioning long enough to eat." She rubbed her side where she had been bitten, still remembering the pain.

Edric Crestburn

He grinned, pulling a flask from his robes and handing it over. "Go for it, I'm trying to keep sober in case more of those bounty hunters come calling. Can't be missing with more spells than I have been."

Quinys Forgedawn

"I'm going to sleep after this, almost being killed plus watch makes me sleepy." She took a long drink and sat back down, chewing a piece of bread and closing her eyes for a moment. It had been a long day and she was ready for the dark embrace of unconsciousness. "So, what do you think of our group of misfits now?"

Edric Crestburn

"Y'know, for an elf, Erys ain't half bad in a hostage negotiation…by the by, ya know when I'm talkin' about elves I ain't referring to you and your kind, right? Just wanted to make sure I wasn't causing any offense." He whipped some of his rations in a clay bowl into a hot crock of onion soup, with melted cheese and all. It warmed him in the cold night that surrounded them. "Valorn and Onys did their share of fightin' big mean nasties and shrugging off their worst. Between them and your stabbing, that bugbear didn't stand a chance."

Quinys Forgedawn

"When you say thinks like 'your kind' it makes it hard to believe." She eyed his soup and took another drink from the flask to keep warm, taking a bite of her sandwich. "Told you that you would be able to resist them for long.~" She teased, winking at him and leaning back onto the big rock and feeling it push into the kinks of her back.

Edric Crestburn

"Hey, doesn't mean I trust them yet. They're just good to have around for now. Once we get this business with Gundren done, they're gonna be a distant memory. Might visit that dwarf's shop though, he seems like he can drink with us and not be a loser about it." He offered her some of his soup, handing over the crock. "Go ahead, got some Waterdeep Gruyere on there."

Quinys Forgedawn

"Are you making up words now? I thought you were staying sober." She sniffed the pot and took a small sip of the broth and licked her lips, smiling and handing it back. "That tastes strange, in a good way though. You'll have to show me how to make it."

Edric Crestburn

"Heh, it'd take a lot more than a recipe, cuz I ain't using one. It's all up here." He tapped his head. "You saying you're interested in learnin' some magic?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"Ehh, I'm not sure if I could do something like that." She finished her sandwich and chased it with another drink before handing the flask back. "I'm not the smartest person in the world, and magic requires some brains."

Edric Crestburn

"You'd be surprised. I got called a stupid wharf rat for years, and look at me now. Top of my class in divination, minor in Giant Studies, and…professional goblin slayer. What a waste of an education, y'know?"

Quinys Forgedawn

"I never went to school." Quinys shrugged and started to sharpen her dagger, watching it glint in the firelight. She thought about the various 'schooling' she went through and wondered what her life would have been like if things had been different.

Edric Crestburn

"Overrated, if you ask me. Most of my time was getting my ass kicked by the friends of rich high elves who didn't like the way I looked at 'em." It still fueled his anger to this day, but he tried to pretend he took it in stride. A bit of prestidigitation flattened the earth under him, as he laid out his bedroll. "Anyway, you seem to be doing fine. Most girls in your position would have been selling their bodies to get by, but you're a survivor. That's somethin' to admire."

Quinys Forgedawn

"I owe it all to Adonis." She reminded herself, still working on the thin edge of her blade before blowing on it and setting it back in its scabbard.

Edric Crestburn

"Nah. You owe it to yourself. Start thinkin' like that and you're gonna devalue yourself." Laying on his side, he decided to catch some sleep so he could prepare his spells in the morning. "Let's hope whoever's on watch has better eyesight than the last time."

Quinys Forgedawn

She laid in her own spot and kicked his foot a bit as it laid by her own. "At least we know they have better eyesore than you."

Edric Crestburn

He laughed, as he closed his eyes. "Seeya in the mornin', Quin."
