Erys Moongem

"We're idiots," Erys begins in Common, dropping her pack beside her bedroll and removing her weapons for the conclusion of her watch. "First, I let myself get shot, damn thing flew right above my shield. Why was I even carrying the fucking thing? And then… those fucking wolves. How are your wounds? Have you seen to them already?"

Onys Kiirnodel

Onys looks up from her bedroll, where she's already stripped out of her armor and is idly checking the chain mail for tears or lost rings, wearing her plain, metal-stained undertunic. "I am unhurt, thank you." After her initial reply, she immediately switches back to the Elven tongue. "Be more tranquil, sister. We have carried the day, and we have lost none. There is little more one can ask."

Erys Moongem

Erys' eyes narrow noticeably at the switch, but she reasons that it would simply be too argumentative to insist. She follows her sister's lead, switching to Elven, mostly in an effort to continue a show of compassion. In her way. "If it weren't for Dagger, we'd have lost you. She was incredible."

Onys Kiirnodel

Onys nods, noting the appellation, but refraining from comment. "The woman is certainly adept with her blades. I cannot say I am comfortable with how quickly this contract has descended into blood and steel, but as innocent lives are endangered, our duty stands clear…even were a friend not in peril."

Erys Moongem

Erys grins. "Duty, right. And honor. And gold. By the by, I managed to trick Yeemick out of some of the gold we took from Kragg. Plus some other things, including those Potions of Healing which ought to be helpful if you decide to get pounced again." Erys finally settles down to a resting position on her bedroll, looking at her small symbol of Sune before gesturing to the tiefling across the camp. "What do you make of the druid?"

Onys Kiirnodel

Onys grimaces slightly, almost wilting. She drops the armor in her lap and decides instead to fidget with the thick braid of her hair, untying the white and black ribbons and roughly combing out the midnight-blue plait with her fingers. "If I never have a wolf atop me again, I should be quite glad." She doesn't look over her shoulder to give the tiefling a further look before shrugging and dispensing her opinion: "Much like any other tiefling, I imagine, directionless and selfish. I doubt she'll be a problem. She's certainly not the one I'd expect to try and slip a knife under my ribs."

Erys Moongem

Erys laughs in an entirely improper way, especially considering the hour. "I imagine y—- Yes, I imagine so." She nods at the remarks concerning Rowan. "She's a creature of purpose. I enjoy that." But her eyes glance over the group with suspicion and her smile fades at the last remark. Lowering her voice, Erys leans into the gap between them. Sure, the human was an odd one what with his fond attachment to imaginary creatures… but at least he had an imagination, unlike some people. And the dwarf had nearly died supporting the sisters against the bugbear. "Ona? Who are you concerned about?"

Onys Kiirnodel

Onys' voice lowers as well, leaning back slightly to put her lips near her sibling's ear. She doesn't assume that any of her compatriots understood her tongue, apart from the wood elf, but she prefers not to take the chance. "The enchanter. He plays at being an airy fop, but I suspect he bears some grudge against our people. I expect uncouth manners from the dwarf, his upbringing would provide him no better, but Edric is quick to arrive with insult and slur."

Erys Moongem

Erys remembers Avara trying for the 800th time to encourage her daughter to appreciate the long history of the elven people, and Erys' nearly eternal sneer at the topic. "He may very well, but it's not like I'd blame him. And he did compliment me on the negotiations once we got back to camp… still, though. I'll watch your back, Ona. I've caught his remarks but they're just jokes. Hells, they're funny half the time. I'll introduce myself to him tonight and see if I can crack him. Hell, a night with me and he might just change his mind." She grins. "But if he lays a hand on you, I'll kill him."

Onys Kiirnodel

If such a thing is possible, Onys wilts further at the prospect of Erys beginning to sleep her way through their latest group of companions. Is there anything she could say to halt her sister's rampage? Unlikely. She merely sighs, pushing the dread of the day where that argument comes to a head (again) to the back of her mind. "Well, do as you see fit to. It's certainly none of my concern."

Erys Moongem

Erys nods with the full weight of self-assurance, the course clear and decided. "Sune loves me, sister. Worry not. She grabs her dagger, rises, and prepares to make her way over to the dwarf and wood elf by the fire. She unconsciously slips back into Common, not even realizing. "And try to actually get some rest tonight. Rescuing Roxie promises to be much more difficult than grabbing that unconscious layabout was."

Onys Kiirnodel

Onys puts aside her armor and nods at her departing sibling. "Of course, dear." She sighs, biting back a cruel remark about who is more likely to get the rest and being annoyed that she even thought it.
