DS1 - Onys & Erys

Onys Kiirnodel
The day is victorious for the strange family of mercenaries that have been living and working together for the last month or so, but the air is grim, and not just for the weather in the north this late in the year. One lost a mentor. Another slew hers and found the evidence of his last betrayal. As for Onys, well. It could be said she looked like that most days. But her sister probably knows her better than that.

Erys Moongem
Erys dismisses herself from the company of their dwarven companions and moves up, to keep pace with her sister. "Ona, it should just be another… hour? Or so? And we'll hopefully be able to get you a proper… y'know, bath. I was half a second from doing the same, to be honest, but when I felt the spell break as you fell my heart leapt into my throat. It was a thousand times worse than that cavemouth with D—-… Quinys and… hah, wolves? Who gives a shit about wolves. At least Adonis is handled. Quinys can start healing now."

Onys Kiirnodel
Onys sighs, slipping one hand out of a massive gauntlet and raking her fingers through the crop of midnight-blue atop her head. "True. It will probably take time, but it's a true step forward, having disposed of that vile…thing. I almost feel as if I should apologize to her again for having thought she might be allied with such a creature. But…yes. That fall was terrifying and what was at the bottom of it…I know I blacked out for a moment, but that ichor, I feel it in my bones. Edric's magic has cleaned it from my person, but if I had any provenance or prestige here, I would demand to be scrubbed clean by as many courtesans as I could obtain. My stomach churns at the mere thought of that stench."

Erys Moongem
Erys nods sympathetically. "If you'd like any help with that, I'd be happy to. You know I don't think myself above such things. I'm just so relieved Rowan… saved the day, again. Her abilities are increasing more and more every day it seems."

Onys Kiirnodel
Onys gets as far as opening her mouth, but then closes it again, considering something. "I don't wish to be cross with you, sister, but…I must ask." She looks over at Erys for her reaction. "What were you doing?"

Erys Moongem
Erys frowns and looks at the ground, watching her feet clank away at the ground moving beneath her. "I don't have a frost ray or a… ranged… thing… I wasn't gonna go in the room, and it turned out that was right, so… I went back to Nobbreth and his companion just to talk… one thing led to another and it got a little hot and heavy, okay? When you fell, I was way back there, but when I felt the spell break I screamed, I ran over, I wanted to do anything I could to help but I was powerless. I thought for sure I'd lost you—-

Onys Kiirnodel
Onys waves Erys's explanation aside. "Not that, gods know we'd give anything for each other, you and I both know that. I'm just…" she sighs again. "I thought you were going to wait for our centennial, wait for things within our little group to even out before…" the elven brows narrow, Onys searching for a way to make her point without being crass. "…seeking further disport." Close enough.

Erys Moongem
Erys blinks. Had it really been so long? "Truelove help me, Ona… I've been so, y'know, wanting, on the road, I… totally forgot. And also kind of focused on, y'know…" Glancing towards Quinys' direction. "But you're right, I'll just invite Nobbreth for some company, no sex. No more lovers until our centennial. It matters to me. I want to learn what I can from your way. And… maybe… I dunno. I don't want you to go home, after. I want to stay together."

Onys Kiirnodel
Onys scratches the itch at the tip of her nose for a moment. A vastly ignoble-looking action, but she is merely mortal for all her airs. "It's not about the sex. I'm not our mothers, Era, it's not my place to judge who you take to bed and how often, I'm just hurt that you said one thing and proceeded to do another." She snorts in a momentary chuckle. "You think I haven't been wanting, either? If I had a free moment to think about anything but our task…" She mulls over Erys's final declaration for a moment or three. "I don't know where I will end up after this," is all she says on the matter for the moment.

Erys Moongem
Erys responds with conviction and a tone that reveals she's irritated at herself for forgetting the oath. "I made that promise to you for a reason, Ona, and it is my sincere wish to keep it. I merely… faltered. My faith is strong. My willpower, I find to be rather lacking, at times."

Onys Kiirnodel
She nods. "Very well. If that is your desire, I will stand with you if needs be. Just…don't take my empty bed as some sort of aspiration."

Erys Moongem
Erys laughs, loudly and openly. "If I have my way, neither of our bed will be empty for long. A few moons, the right words…" She made knowing eye-contact with her sister. She had to know for sure, but there was no way to get past Onys' impenetrable defenses. She had to know… "I love you, Ona."

Onys Kiirnodel
Onys smiles, the same small smile she's always shown, barely a quirk in the corners of her mouth. "And I love you, Era."
